I'm planning to upgrade my memory card (RAM). currently i have 192mb Ram total, and i have to upgrade it to at least 512mb ram for my newly bought DVD-Rw drive. is there anything to consider in buying one and installing it?

Since you are anyways upgrading your memory card, it is better to update RAM to more than 1 GB. There is not much price difference between the 512 MB one adn the 1GB one. 2GB cards are also available. Many new softwares adn OS versions like Windows Vista needs more RAM.

consider the compatibility. some boards requires different RAM, like if its DDR266 or DDR333 and more. so be sure to know whats RAM compatible to your board memory slot.

I have a little upgrade in my desktop computer, and there is some thing to consider, like if the Memory RAM that you will buy works for your computer, I had a problem with a memory RAM that I bought, it was that my computer didn't work with it, some computers like dell, just works with some brand memory so, you need to check it before to buy, and another thing is the price , the price of the computer part and the memory RAM are down so you need to check if you can get for a bit more a maybe 1GB but you need to be sure that you computer can work with that huge of memory, so check out your motherboard manual, the installation is not hard, it is just put that, you can check some tutorial on internet, if you are afraid of the electro ecstatic you can buy something for avoid it, I have installed with just my hands and I never have burn a compute devices but some person do.
