I have done both the things many times. But most of the times I have arrived at the exact time when our professor would enter the class. Our professor would enter from the front door and I would enter from the back door. Share your experience.....

I try to go at the right time...if you get there late the class has already begun and you don't know what the hell they're talking about..so it's better to make the effort of getting to class 5 minutes earlier.

Yes, I would do that only if the class was important to me and the topics or the lessons would go in a sequence. But, if the class is not that important and yet I want to attend it to get the attendence then arriving a bit late wouldn't be bad. Thank you for responding.

When i was in school i used to go to school on time as school authorities were strict about being in school in time and i didn't want to be punished for being late or scolded for it as i was good at studies and didn't want to be embrassed. Though during college days i sometimes i used to be late due to traffic jams. LOL. But it didn't matter that much as many batchmates used to be late and professors were used to students coming late as we were one's who would miss lectures. LOL.

Yes, schools are very strict against being late. When I was in school I would do anything to reach in time to the school. I were to ride bicycle from some kilometers and reach the school at the right moment. Thank you for responding.

See, this depends on what school level. I mean, if it were about any level upto high school, and I would have to be on time because we could be punished if we were late too much... college, however, was a different story. In college, my dorm roommate and I actually had a bet going to see who could show up late for class and not get yelled at or talked to by the professor about being so late. I actually walked into a classroom 15 minutes before the class was supposed to end, sat down, and no one ever said anything to me about it. Or I would show up 10 minutes late, turn a paper in, and then head over to the student union to relax and read or hang out with people.

When I was in college, I would arrive a bit early (say 5 minutes) before classes started, I would settle down myself and took out my things getting ready for the class. I couldn't really concentrate if I arrived in the classes in a hurry. I like to take a little time to relax before that. I was almost never late for classes, I don't know. It felt weird to be late and disturbing the classes. I had classmates who arrived late all the time and I found them quite annoying. So I would say, I either arrive early or I don't arrive at all (skipping classes).

That was a good thing you did. We had a lecturer for accountancy when I was in pre-university. She would start the problem right from the point of entering the class and would end while going out of the class. The roll calls were called while we were solving the problems. This practice of her made us to be on time if we weren't prepared to wait for another 10-15 min for her to dictate another problem...Thank you for responding.

Intelligent lecturer! *laughs* I guess it's just in my personality that I don't like to be late, in general. Like my colleagues think I am a little nut to arrive at work 10-15 minutes early, but it's just my habit!

I don't like to be late too. But don't know why I cannot make it in time. May be I should begin much earlier than I plan to.
