Surveys...do they really pay?

I have joined a site that often sends me surveys from OTX (online testing exchange). YOu can earn 10 points just for clicking on the survey and accepting the opportunity to take it, with 50 points awarded if you are selected and finish the survey. I bet that I have probably taken 30 of these surveys and have only been awarded 50 points ONE TIME! Problem is, I usually spend 10 minutes or so answering a bunch of questions, only to get...sorry, you did not qualify for this survey. I am beginning to think that this is a scam and that they are just collecting information from people. Have you had any experiences like this?

Yes, I have joined some survey sites that the "rewards" just never amounted to anything, so I unsubscribed. I was paid once by survey savvy. I think it was only $2 though. I just didn't get much from them and cancelled my membership. I've been paid once by survey spot. I think it was for $5 or $6. I have one site I've stayed with and been paid several times. I usually make $30-$40 a year from that one. I'm not familiar with OTX. If I come across it, I don't think I'll join based on your poor experience. Thanks for sharing.

I do lightspeed and global test market ones and that's it, but have never been paid, and its a point thing as well. My husband on the other hand has been a member of pinecone research for years, and gets very frequent $5 payments to our paypal acct. Usually like between $10-20 a month, plus they send stuff for him to try. I got two checks in the mail today from him doing other surveys. Not sure the site. In the morning I will look and post a response to this, but the checks were for $5 and $1. So not too bad. Especially since i'm not doing anything..lol. Never heard of OTX though.

There are a few survey sites that have OTX surveys and it makes me made because I too spend time starting a survey and then they say I dont qualify. So basically I just wasted my time. Then if I do qualify the ask me the same questions I just answered all over again. Why?

Doesn't that just drive you crazy? I mean how many times do they have to ask you how many people are in the house and what their ages are!!! Thanks for sharing...here's a great big ole positive rating for you and everyone else too!

I have had pretty good luck with OTX. Of course there have been occasions that it turned me down but I always received some points whether I completed the survey or not. 5 or 50 those points add up.
