Would anyone happen to have any good budgeting tips or ideas? My husband and I have gone on a budget which has really been challenging. I am sure that as time goes on budgeting will be easier to manage but at this point it really seems like everything costs money and we are constantly tempted to use our credit cards.. :\

It is very hard to stick with it when you frist start because you are basically retraining yourself. It does get easier over time but there will always be temptation. At first hubby and I put our credit cards in a ziploc baggie full of water and froze them so we'd have to wait before evry purchase. It gave us time to decide if it was awant or a need. If it was a need it gave us time to come up with the money some other way instead of using the credit cards. We found one other thng that helped us alot - set goals. I fyou have something you are working towards you are much more likely to stay on track. Good luck

Thing is, that that temptation never really goes away, as there is always that one more night that you really don't want to cook, and so you go out, etc. My fiance' and I have been together 10 years, and just making sure we do things like eat in-- finding entertainment in taking walks rather than something that costs something seems to help a lot. And also, occasionally eating out or seeing a movie, but in a planned way, seems to help as well. (Going cold turkey just not going out at all tended to drive us batty.)
