I just got breaking news via email that the courts ruled in favor of Washington D.C. Dry Cleaners in the $54 million dollar lawsuit over a pair of lost pants.
The D.C. drycleaning store was being sued for $54 million dollars over an allegedly missing pair of pants will not have to pay anything to the D.C. couple. Roy Pearson (person who sued over pants) may have to pay the store owners legal fees.

What is really sad about this case was that Roy Pearson is a judge. Well maybe I should say that he was a judge. After this case came out in to the news his boss said that he was going to recommend that he no longer hold his postition any longer. So it looks like he may lose more then he could have imagined.
This was a stupi lawsuit in the first place. No pair of pants is worth fifty four million dollars. He claimed they were worth that much because they were his favorite pair of pants. He should have taken what the couple was offering at the start. Looks like this will be a hard lesson for him to learn.

Hi Castleghost and thanks for your response.
Thanks for the info- I did not know that Roy was a judge-- that makes the lawsuit all the more ridiculous if you ask me!!!

$54 million dollars for a pair of PANTS??? What is WRONG with people? Our society has become so sue-happy it's pathetic. Why do people do this? Do they really feel they've been so totally wronged that they need millions of dollars in compensation? Or is it that they just want to make a easy buck? (or a lot of them)? I just do not understand how we, as a society, have let this get so out of control. We're paying people money cause they spilled coffee on themselves, because they eat a big mac, because they lost a pair of pants? It's terrible. It amazes me how greedy people can actually be.

Hi Hermit and thanks for your response.
I agree with you whole heartedly about people being just plain greedy these days. I say the Chungs (drycleaners sued) should sue for defamation of charachter and a wrongful suit if that is even possible. I mean granted - this mans big thing was that they lost his absolute favortie pair of pants-- but if that is the case- then wash them yourself- don't send them out to be done!
