Wimbledon

has ruined neighbours for this next fortnight here in the uk and it makes me very unhappy! I love my daily fix of sunshine and Ramsey Street and I am lost because the BBC have taken it off air for tennis-who wants to watch a load of balls being hit backwards and forwards? Not me, that is for sure. I already miss stingray and dylan and now I am not getting my fill of Paul or any of the other character's that are part of my life. Why? Tis not fair!

I'm sure they are not watching Wimbledon in Ramsey Street at the moment. We have been forced to forsake the sunshine from down under for the rain and wind of the empty tennis courts. Why does the BBC always do this? Why do they also dump Neighbours at bank holidays and other public holidays? And, most annoying of all, is when something happens that causes them to drop the repeat in the late afternoon. You miss the lunchtime edition expecting to see the repeat only to find horse racing or whatever. If the BBC treat their avid Neighbours watchers so poorly, no wonder they have lost the rights.

Its really annoying isn't it. I normally set my sky box up to record the lunchtime showing which was cancelled for Ascot (even though they continued showing it at 5:35) so I missed those episodes and now two week with no neighbours at all....boo! All it does is rain for wimbledon anyway. I was hoping that with all of the extra digital channels that sports would not interfere with normal viewing these days, but obviously thats not the case. I think it will be a good thing (even though end of an era) when neighbours moves to channel 5. Although we will probably have the disadvantage of advert break, it should have an omnibus edition at the weekend as they do with home and away. and it won't be ditched for the likes of wimbledon.
