I was just wondering how many woman have had or plan on having water births? I have a friend who is due to have a baby on July 3rd. And she plans to have a water birth. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this and what it was like for you? I can imagine it being amazing experience and would like to know how it feels and why you chose to do the birth in this manor?

no way, i'm a wimp i had to have the epidural and with a water birth, that's not possible. but i have seen it done on a baby story, and i notice a lot of people like it! it helps them relax more.

i didn't mean whoever had the epidural is a wimp, i'm sorry, i just have a really low tolerance for pain. no one can pat me on the back literally b/c it'll hurt, my husband touches me and it hurts, he's like dang u're weak! but idk why i'm like that!

I wanted so bad to have a water birth when I had my son. Where we were stationed, I couldn't do it. I've always thought it would be a wonderful experience. She's so lucky to be able to do that!

We had hoped to have one, but my wife's labout went on for 41 hours and she had to be monitored all the way through so couldn't be in the water. Her sister just had our niece by water-birth a couple of months ago though. She said it was more comfortable because floating makes you feel you weigh less.

I've never known anyone who has. A friend once considered it but the midwife she had said that it wasn't actually relexing and that put her off. Personally I think being in the hospital or around a saver here would be better :) Would be interesting though. ~Joey

I am not planning on giving birth at all. You only have 5 children. Why don't you go for six, have a water birth, and let us know what it is like. I know when I have been in pain with my period, sitting in hot water helped a lot.
