Your Avatar - What Does It Say About You?

I post my picture as my avatar because I want credibility. I see various pictures of different things, all, probably, with a meaning behind them. Some, though, do not post a photo at all. In your opinion, what does your avatar say about you? Do you think that the absence of a avatar says nothing about you? Have you seen a particularly interesting avatar that you are curious about?

My avatar is me and my daughter. For me it shows that I am a loving mother and that I am a real person. I don't really think anything of the people without avatars. Maybe they either don't want a picture of anything or don't have a picture. I do wonder about some of the avatars with different symbols. I often wonder what those symbols are and what they mean to those people.

I understand thta there are poeple that would not want to post thier photo. That could be for various reasons - even security. No avatar could mean, "nothing to say". Your avatar is superb.

My avatar says I don't have anything in my new laptop that truly reflects me. This came the closest as it reminds me of sunsets on my beloved Oregon Coast. Also, I responded to your question of your own picture. I understand branding. I also know first hand how the public responds...I had a serious accident which left my face with 176 stitches etc. We adopted a baby with a severely disfigured face due to a birth defect and at the age of 27 he is still discriminated from jobs etc. Pre-conceived ideas of his capabilities. He cannot get his face repaired and he no longer cares what people say. Now, I know this is long and off your question but sometimes a simple answer won't do. I am put off by "off color" avatars and do like funny ones. Some I am curious about but afraid of the answer!

I believe the funny avatars reflect upon the person's personality, sense of humor, etc. My cousin said I should smile more. I guess I'm serious about certain things. People choose colors, music, friends -- everthing by thier personality, I believe. You could use something in connectin with your business inclinations. Your nickname, "Changing Lives" indicates to me that you are a helpful person. Let me ask you, "Would the looks of a restaurant have an affect on whether you stopped there?". Think about it.

That does prove the statement, "You can't judge a book by it's cover". I have experienced places like that, but I learned in my business experiences that, most of the time, those places may not be noticed because they do not stand out enough.

That last question left you open for very funny story! About 10 years ago I was in Mexico with my husband and friends. I wanted to travel into the back country, however they were reluctant but relented. We rented a jeep and kept traveling North through Jalisca. Hunger sat in. I spotted a restaurant down a sand road with a young child tied to a tree (safety issue-not abuse) with dogs and roosters on the tables....I said I didn't care if they ate but I was going to. The owners went into the ocean, caught our dinner and everyone ate and it was truly the best "local" food we had. No one got sick and we still laugh at my choices of where to eat on trips. I like little out of the way hole-in-the-wall places. My daughter is in India at the moment as she supports a local school for girls and follows my picking out restaurants in the same fashion and her friends are shocked-no illness.

I dont think that i have to make comments about my avatar. It speaks alone and you can easily understand it.

I really don't know what to put in there. But I think there should be something. I wanted to upload one for a long time. I was thinking about my picture. But somehow all of my pictures got wiped out from my computer. My camera also stopped working and I could not take a new picture. Now I uploaded a flower because I like flowers. They are colorful and also mean something differently for different people. I am not that particular about any specif meaning to an avtar. Whatever one likes.

Your avatar could be something about the nature of your business or personality. Pets, traveling, etc. -- all those things make a first impression about you.

My avatar depends. It's usually lyrics from some of my favorite songs.
