When people ask , hey how are you? do they really mean it?

I ALWAYS I MEAN ALWAYS!!! get asked...how u been , how are you, stuff like that...and the thing that bugs me about it is that they dont even care...i will always say good reguardless if i won the lottery or if my mother died...just because they DONT CARE haha

Sometimes, it depends on their tone of voice. Some of my retarded friends(who i don't like and i won't hang out with them) ask me it to be sarastic but however, when I hang out with my mature friends, I feel that they truly to mean it
