Kudos and farewell to Blackmagician, who's goodbye post contained a link to one of her previous discussions on hack software for myLot. It made me sick to my stomach to watch the video, so prepare yourself:
http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1074772.aspx
You may already be aware I'm a combative soul, I don't take well to being messed with or effed over. The only religious tenet I believe in is, "God helps those who help themselves." In the discussion referenced above, several respondents said they would report the site to myLot. Whether they did or not, a month later the damn thing's still there. I PM'd myLot about it, but that isn't enough to satisfy me. I also found out that the hackers are using PrivacyProtect.org to mask their domain info, and I've complained to them. That's what I've accomplished in the hour since I read the discussions. That isn't enough.
I used to own a traffic exchange that got attacked by hackers quite a lot. I could always tell when I was under attack, just by loading my site. Pages load very slowly, graphics don't display properly, or at all, page contents vanish for no reason... sounds like myLot this past weekend, no?
I don't know about you, but I am mad as HELL and I'm not going to sit still and do nothing. I have a couple of ideas, but it will be much more effective if a whole bunch of us work together. Let me know if you're with me, I'll be working on refining my ideas into an action plan. Please share your ideas, too.
I'm not here for the money, I love my friends so much I'd post here for nothing, but the little bit of money that comes my way is MINE, g-d it, and I'm not giving it up to skulking, scumbag, waste-of-carbon, thieving A$$HOLES without a fight!
WHO'S WITH ME?

I saw that video weeks ago when a friend told me that my avatar and one of my discussions "Daddy Dearest" could be seen on it. This was listed on "Youtube" at the same time myLot was running their video competition. Personally I can't see how anyone can read what they are doing on it is is so blurry. I followed it through and it takes you to eBay and there is nothing. So I really don't know if it is dangerous or not. I am quite sure myLot admin must have seen it as it was listed together with all the other competition videos.

Hello Gardengrrl,
Have you viewed this on YouTube? I'm too tired to think clearly. But, if this is not the shenanigans of a disgruntled member, then I'd like to help put this to an end immediately.
If our earnings are not secure, then some steps need to be taken immediately! Some of our members live in nations where a US dollar goes a longggg way.
So, I'm certainly on board to further investigate this.

Hi, Ladyluna!
Only what I posted yesterday up in cynddvs' response. That's a good question... guess a discussion asking for victims to step forward would be the best way to find any who might have lost funds. I was wondering last night about draining accounts where the people haven't logged in for a month or so, maybe a way to avoid detection.. but then again, how much money would actually be available in such accounts, probably not that much.
Anyway, I'll be in and out all day, a good friend was admitted to the hospital yesterday, but I'll keep digging and post the results here, in the first response to this discussion.
Thanks for your interest and support, Lady, be well!

I would definitely be interested in helping the cause. It's not really as much about the money for me as it is about the community and the people that I've come to know on this site since I was first introduced to it. I don't think that there is an easy way to do this, but anything we can do to fight these guys is something I would be interested in.

Let me know what I can do to help when you figure out a good plan. I don't make much money off MyLot but it's MY money. I would be very pissed off if some greedy AHole starting stealing my money. And I would be even more pissed off if MyLot had to shut down because of these people. I'll do whatever I can to help bring these people down!

I forgot - we could use the services of someone tech-savvy enough to help figure out if the video is a forgery or not. I can't think of such a person right now, if you know anyone, please ask for their help. Thanks!

Hi, Mooch!
I'm going to do as you suggest and send Paypal the link and a complaint. I'll be in and out today, a good friend had a mild stroke and is hospitalized, so I'll be working on this whenever I stop back home today.
Thanks for your time and support, Mooch!
