Chevy Luminas...I dread them. Finally sold it (got it running good enough to sell). Now my BIG Baby has a problem. I have a 1986 Ford Econoline 350 (engine is a 351). This truck was turned into a box truck, like a U-Haul. Carb is a Motorcraft 2 barrel. A new engine was put in it before I bought it, I have not located the engine number so that I can find the correct vacuum routing for this engine. The charcoal canisters are not hooked up. This is a Michigan Truck/no emissions were needed there. The 1st time the motor caught on fire (fire was from the carb)...a lot of the emission components were burned up. I know there is one vacuum thingee that was crispy (possibly a Thermal Vent Valve or a Fuel Bowl Vacuum). This connects between a port under the carb (intake manifold?) and the charcoal canisters. There are 3 ports on bottom of carb (intake manifold?). 2 large & 1 small. Am not sure what hooks to where. There are 2 ports (large) that go to the top of the carb, one in front and one in back. Am not sure what hooks up to these. Can anyone help?? It still backfires from the carb & catches on fire. I really need some help with this.

Good God, buy yourself a Volkswagen. I always drive cars from the Volkswagon company and have never had such a lemon car as you do. What you discribe is a real hazard. Made in Germany works best. Buy yourself a BMW or Mercedes.
