Has anyone really used these videos for their children? I just recently started and my daughter is already learning sign language. They are great, they actually keep her interested. She usually isn't into television. She is only 22 months. It's great. and now I can brag that she know sign language.

Those Baby Einstein must be worth it since she's doing it so maybe I'll get that for my daughter after she has her baby in October. Of course you can brag about her adn I am glad to hear that she can do it (YEAH)Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. I did not realize you were "half" deaf, I am not sure what you would really call it. Congratulations on being a grandma!

Thanks. Yeah I was born deaf so now I would say hard-of-hearing would do.

While I think it's great that your child can use sign language (I would be bragging too! lol), and you must be very proud of her..I have issues with trying to create a child genius. I'm not suggesting that is what you are doing, but I've seen articles where people really go overboard, have their 3 year old speaking 3 or 4 languages, etc.. I just think that while you offer your child knowledge, you should also allow them to simply be children. The extent of our children's education before school was to teach them their letters, numbers, colours, etc, and they loved to learn how to write simple words, and draw pictures, sing songs, etc. I find these lessons more important than having a child who is 5 years old with more knowledge than your average 12 year old. Some people take the early childhood away, by going overboard with trying to create their little genius. I know children thrive on learning, I just think there should be a balance. Just my opinion.. But I still think it's pretty cool that your little one knows sign language! Lol

I value your opinion and I do agree with you. I know that you are not suggesting that I am doing that but to put your mind at ease, I am not. In fact, I use these videos more so I can get some housework done because I know she will actually watch them and I can be pretty sure that she is staying out of stuff while I am in the kitchen mopping or whatever. I just think that it is great that there are tools available out there for a single mom like me to feel comfortable with my child watching and helping me out at the same time!

My daughter loves Baby Einstein. She's got 6 dvds. I don't let her watch very much tv though. Since Baby Einstein movies aren't very long it doesn't bother me when she watches them. And I love the music and how the kids can learn so many things from them.

My daughter loves the Einsteins. I am not trying to make my daughter a baby genius but they are interesting and you learn a lot from them. My daughter has learned some from the signing videos. but mostly from a local show in SLC, Utah that is called Signing time. You could probably find the tapes online. I know they sell them on DVD's. Good luck.
