Are you the one who doesn't trust others, for taste or any other reason, when it comes to cooking? or do you prefer others to cook for you? why? I have mixed experience, some foods are better cooked by me, so I prefer that those particular things are cooked by me. most of the time it's otherwise, though:-) as I am generally a terrible cook. What about you?

I'm getting very lazy and prefer not to have to cook. I especially prefer not to cook in the summmer. It is hot and humid here in summer and cooking just makes me hotter. Of course, I often cook whether I want to or not because I get hungry!

Specialty? Well, I can do taco salad when I have to. Mostly, in the summer, I get salads from the deli, potato salad, cole slaw, etc., pop a couple of ears of corn or hot dogs in the microwave and call it a meal.

hi kamran, after getting married, i do all the cooking work in my house. i prepare all the meals and breakfast. before when i was unmarried, my mom use to do all that for me, i use to make only breakfast and that too, on weekends or any holiday. i love to cook but i love my mom made food and i like to eat what ever she makes for me. the taste she is having in her hands, is difficult to find any where else. my dad too is a very good cook. cooking is in my genes so is not a problem for me. i love to call people at my place on weekdays or every fortnight i like to have a get together at my place and i make all the eatable items on my own, starting from the starters to the meals and then the sweet dish or any dessert in the end of the meal. i enjoy that very much.

Hello, aweins! I thought you are a female but your profile corrected me:-). Your wife would be lucky to have a husband like you:-) I too, though can cook myself, like my mother's or wife's cooking as they cook far too better than I. We friends too usually have a get together here every fortnight or even earlier and someone among us makes the eatables. It seems that you are auite an expert! what is your specialty? Thanks for sharing:-)

Since I am EXTREMLY picky at eating I really prefer to make my own food. My specialty is angel hair spagetti with butter and salt ;P yum! lol. I don't like sauce on spagetti! I'm also a whiz at sandwiches! lol. If someone makes something I like than that's great, otherwise I prefer making my own food :)

I'm a decent cook, but in general I prefer to have others cook for me most of the time. The food just seems to taste better when someone else prepares it...not to mention slaving over the hot stove. I draw the line however at grilling and outdoor barbeque's. If the people involved can actually cook, and keep mine (and everyone else's) prefrences in mind then it is fine. It's been my experience at most family get-togethers that they usually cook everyone's food to their taste. Personally I ask how they want they their food served, taking note of and realizing that there is a differnce between rare and well-done. Some like pepper, some don't, some want more salt. I try to cook for the person who will be eating, it's not one size fits all.

Hello, filmbuff!:-) I always wondered, why it almost always tastes good when others cook!:-) I am glad that I am not alone:-) You are right though, about package cooking. Personally, I have done cooking only for wife and some select friends and knowing what they like, it hasn't been a problem here. It appears that you have a professional sort of touch as you take note and take care of their preferences. What's your specialty in cooking, filmbuff!? Thanks for sharing! it's always a pleasure to see you:-)

Living as a bachelor for most of life I tend to do most of my own cooking so I've gotten fairly okay at it. Since I'm a meat eater by nature if I have any kind of speciality that would be it. I also cook itallian pretty well too.

I cook for me and my husband. But if there are other people involved I would let him or other people to cook. I just don't think they will like my cooking. My husband on the other hand, eats anything as long as it's cooked well and tastes good. I warned him not to eat my baby cat, if he does, I will cook him.

Haha! Sure he will be careful about the baby cat and would not like himself be eaten by the babycat after being cooked!:-) Thank you for sharing, LittleMel!:-)

I hate to cook, I cooked for 30 years and Im tired of cooking. so when I hooked up with my now husband I said I will wash the dishes but I will not cook, was ok with him he loves to cook and hates to wash dishes, plus he was a chef for a while so he cooks way better than I do . From time to time I wil cook pancake and egg breakfast and he loves it, he says pancakes just dont cook right for him, so sometimes I wil give him a treat and cook them for him.

I actually enjoy cooking and would rather cook just because I know I will like it. I'm not to much of a picky eater BUT I don't like many foreign things- including seafood and I don't like creamy sauces- so to avoid being rude and not wanting to eat someones food- I rather cook, I am quite good at it too :)

Hello friend! I love to cook and i do cook a lot. It runs in the family I guess, well except for my bro..he'll burn everything he cooks! LOL!! Both my parents are good cooks, so when I was younger *smiles* my mother made it sure that I'll learn how to cook. When I'm in Philippines my mother always cooked for us even we have a maid. We love her cooking and it's lovely! for me, she's the best cook in the world! But here in Bahrain I cook a lot for my husband and my stepson. Although there are times that my husband does the cooking and I like it *when he's being romantic* hehehe. He loves to cook for me. Maybe I'm just lucky that he likes to cook and we take turns. Since he's british, there are meals that he fancy eating that I don't know how to cook, he does tell me how to. And if they both fancy having Filipino meals, it's my turn to impress them..well so far I'm doing a great job impressing them because they always ask for it! LOL!! Guess I'm both..I like to cook and like others to cook for me at the same time. Thanks. Your discussion is making me hungry!! LOL!!!take care! cheers! :D

Hello fab315!:-) Hmmm...It looks like I would be pleased being at your place enjoying all the delicious meals:-) Like your brother, I too burnt once, everything was pitch black so much so that nothing was recognizeable, lol. hmm, everything romantic is delicious:-) I hope you would agree. I too love to faicitate my partner een though I don't like my cooked stuff as she cooks much better than me. But, there was a time that I had to do it continuously for months, during pregnancy of my partner, and so I improved a bit. I believe your partner is as lucky as you are. You have made my mouth watery, fab315. I understand why they would ask you for cooking:-) Thanks for sharing:-)

I have always loved to cook and bake. Until recently; I have noticed I long to have someone cook for me. It has happened a couple of times in the past few months and when I sit to eat I am in love with my dinner. Who ever cooked says, ' well it isn't that good'! I say but it is; and everyone at the table says that is because someone cooked for you that you are enjoying it so much! Maybe so; I don't know. I only know I love it when someone cooks for me!

Hi!! Kamran.. I would always prefer someone else to cook for me!! For three simple reasons.. 1. I am not interested to cook, so even if i don't find anything to eat at home, I would go to a restaurant. 2. I am afraid to eat what I cook. and 3. People at my home are concerned about their health, they feel they might fall sick if they eat what I cook.. They know me much better :) :)
