If you had the opportunity to buy a house would you take it?

A beautiful house - This isn't the house I'm talking about but it's nice isn't it.

My husband came home today and told me that we have the option to buy a house. It's in a different town but a city police officer is the one who own's it. The guy says that we can buy the house and pay it out for $300 a month. It's a nice house with a big yard. I like the idea of the big yard because of my kids being able to play outside. There are minor things that need to be done such as paint, and fixing the leveling in the floors. It's not rotting away though and from what I hear it could be a really good house to live in. The guy is only wanting $30,000 total. We'll have it paid off in 2 years. Do you guys think I should go for it?

Hey! It's a beautiful house, really. Don't loose the chance of owning it. Wow...you have to get it before it's too late.

LOL! The house in the picture isn't the house I was talking about. I just thought it was a nice photo. I would never be able to afford a house like that one.

If the house is nice, then go for it. This is really cheap for a house and this opportunity does not come around very often. I wish that our house was that cheap and were buying ours from my mother in law.(when she isn't being a pain and says tht she is going to sell the house out from under us.)

Of course why not, if I have the money and the resources I would grab that opportunity coz its something that I dreamed of having but I dont have the resources by now.

I would have it inspected seriously by both a house inspector and a mold inspector. That sounds like a great deal but what's the catch? Is that a normal price for where you live? That's unheard of here...cheapest house is $300,000 and that's for a mobile home! Please be wise in this decision. You don't want to get stuck with a money pit!

There isn't a catch. The guys is just a good friend of my husbands. I live in a very small town and that price is usual around here. It's a 2 bedroom house but its the usual price for that size.

well, I'd take it then! Paying a mortgage is a lot better than paying someone else's mortgage with rent! I hope you get it! :)
