Home Air Purifier...Any reccomendations?

I am interested in buying a home air purifier. I'm fairly sensitive to smells and allergens and I hear these can really help with the air quality in your home...especially in the summer/polen filled months. Plus, I often cook fish and things with garlic and I think this might help with lingering smells better than a candle, which only masks the smells. Does anyone have an air purifier? Which brand/model would you reccomend? How does it work for you? I look forward to any reccomendations ;-)
