Myspace.com and the Amber Alert...

I think that Myspace is now officially taking over the world. I have a myspace, I only got a myspace because I was tired of everyone bugging me to get one. I log on maybe once a day, usually only when I'm at work. I don't use it as a form of communication and/or to keep people informed in my life. Yesterday I logged on and at the top of the screen it says "There is an Amber alert for your area" or something along those lines. If you clicked the box it told you the entire description of the Amber alert. Everything about the missing child and the person last seen with the child. The vehicle that they were last seen in and etc. etc. I was amazed...Now myspace.com is even informing you of missing children in your area! Myspace is taking over the world!

What? Crazy. MySpace will rule the world someday. I have one too but I only got one to make everyone shut up and quit asking me to make one. I can't even remember the last time I logged on. I don't even know if my account is still active.

I actually got into a huge fight with a friend of mine because she decided to move from Maryland (she lived 5 minutes from me) to Boston, MA and the only way she told people was on myspace. So I didn't find out that she was moving until AFTER she moved and I was so mad she didn't tell me. She was like "I said it on myspace!" and I was just like "Seriously? MYSPACE." ... we rarely talk anymore because that's her way of keeping in contact..she writes bulletins on myspace. We used to hang out on a weekly basis and one day she disappeared...and because I don't use myspace to keep up on friends lives... I didn't know why! bah! I just can't believe you can see amber alert details on there now.

Doesn't it make you sick that everything involving communication seems to revolve around MySpace!

Wow, that's showing that it can be useful when it comes to something like that. I haven't had one yet in my area but I'm keeping a look out for those. I think it's great that it does something like that and is a powerful tool if used right, it can actually do good.

yeah I thought it was pretty cool. Just weird! If it hadn't been for myspace I wouldn't have even known there was an amber alert.

I have a myspace, but don't do much with it. I only signed up so I could see an online friends pictures. Anyone can get an Amber Alert ticker on there site. Just have to go to the amber alert site and get the html code for it. No big deal. I don't think myspace is taking over the world because they have the ticker on there site.

I never noticed it before. I just think it's weird. I wasn't serious about it taking over the world...but it is a huge phenomenon. One day it was down for a really long time... and I was flipping through the channels and TRL was on and they mentioned the myspace downtime on MTV. If MTV is talking about it being down, it's pretty much the end of the world. In a sarcastic sense of course.
