I would choose to travel by train because of the way I love to travel most of all. I would bring many memory cards for my digital camera to take hundreds of photos on my way from Amsterdam to Hong Kong. First of all I would travel through Germany into Poland, then up to Moscow. I would break my journey there to see the Red Square. I wonder how easy it would be to navigate the Moscow metro. It would be lovely to see a Russian ballet. I would love to take a side trip from there, up to St Petersburg. There i would like to see the Winter Palace. It would be exciting to climb on to the Trans Siberian Railway and see the beautiful view from the train window. I would love to stop off at the huge lake in Siberia to stay with a local family to see their culture. Next I would love to see Ulan Bator and venture into the Mongolian countryside. It would be amazing to see the city of Beijing. I would like to stop off at some interesting Chinese towns and villages before arriving in Hong Kong. Coming home again I could travel via Tibet and the Silk Road back into Europe and on to Amsterdam.

I am not from your place though , I like to travel by trains , I am sort of crazy after these travel. I like to sit in a window seat and most of the time peep out of the window and look at beautiful site. Which otherwise are rare very rare if you travel in a plane. The fun of walking in a train is simply superb and unmatched . Have you tried it.. Its fun to travel in train. If you go by flight you say time but it all business like. So Most of the time I prefer trains....
Good luck !!!

But in a plane a window seat is of some help only during take-off and landing. All other time you cannot see anything other than clouds. Antwat something is better than nothing ....LOL...good Luck !!!

yes I admit that and I enjoy train, everywhere no matter which country it is, train travel is much more beautiful than plane and i still occupy the window seat and my husband gets the other...he never gets the window seat...its happening from the childhood when i used to fight with my brother for this seat..

I like flying so I would choose plane over train any day. It gets me there faster so I can spend more time doing what I want to do. And it is just as safe if not safer to fly. Yes if you want to spend time looking out a window at the countryside the train is a good way to do just that. To each his own.

I just had a very bad experience the last time I flew with them. My plane was late leaving causing me to miss my connecting flight (which I tried to tell them before we left and they wouldn't do anything to help me switch to a later connecting flight). Once I got to my connecting city they were very rude with me when I asked to be put on another flight to my final destination. I didn't get to my final destination until the next day and of course when I got there they had lost my luggage. They were very rude with me the whole time I was trying to find my luggage. After that experience it's just kind of put me off their airline. But I know everyone has a different experience with them.

I like to travel by train even i havnt yet travelled by plane. I think even if i would have travelled by plane then also i would had opted for train. I think journey by train is great and it feels adventurous, it full of thrill. ANd in plane we sit just like that,no running trees no flying birds to compete with the speed. i think the view of natural beauty outside the window of train, gives us great pleasure and happiness.
I will always opt for train. Right from childhood, i have loved to travel by train. I have travelled longest for 2 days. THat means i was 2 days continous in train!
