Blood donation is one of public services everone should take part in. cause fresh and clean blood you donate right now help others and will help yourself one day when you need. so what's your opinion about this activity and what's problem with the blood donation do you have ? if you never donate blood, can you give out your reasons?

yes. i have. but only once. it was a school project, so we had no choice. Although i was really into it. I really think that donating blood is a good idea. It not only helps others who need the blood, we are also helpning ourselves. From CNN.com, it says that giving blood could also save our life. Here's why. Each time you give blood, you remove some of the iron it contains. High blood iron levels, can increase the risk of heart disease. Iron has been shown to speed the oxidation of cholesterol, a process thought to increase the damage to arteries that ultimately leads to cardiovascular disease. =D

This is an interesting comment dOOdOO, I was not even aware of this information! I wonder how many other people don't know this, and are pumping themselves up with iron, in foods, and in vitamins! Thank you for this comment!

I gave blood for the first time a few months back. A few times I have not been able to, due to being under the weight limit, but this time I was fortunate enough to be able to donate, and now I have my donor card! I think it's wonderful to be able to help save someone's life by doing something as simple as this. My boyfriend is scared of the idea, but what I said to him was this - if one day you are in desperate need of a blood transfusion, then you will expect there to be blood for you, but how can you rely on a supply of blood if you are not supporting the system? I understand some people have phobias of needles - they never used to bother me until recently, I've grown a sort of fear of them, but not as strong as a phobia. I think it's important to give blood, so I'll try not to think about it next time I'm donating! :o)
