I finaly bought a reel mower.

We just got back from vacation and I stuck to the budget great and we had some cash left over. I was running my errands for the week and I stopped for an impulse buy. I ran into Home Depot and bought a reel mower. I have been thinking about it for a while but never wanted to spend the $85 when I could use the gas mower at home and keep the cash in my pocket.
I was worried it would be hard and It wasnt I loved it. It was faster to mow my lawn with this mower. Its quiet and easy to use. It was even easier to push. I need to mow more often now but I can.
I was trying to figure out how long I would need to use it to save what I spent on it. Gas is $3.13 a gallon and I can usualy get a 5 gal gas can to last a month to a month and a half. I am estimating it will take me 6 months and then we are saving more then I spent. Yay!
Has anyone else been thinking of a jump to a reel mower?

I used to have a reel mower and loved to use it. I can't mow any more, though, so I bought a gas mower for those who do it for me. If I could, I'd have another reel mower. They do a good job and it's no harder than pushing a gas mower around. Actually, it's easier because reel mowers don't weigh as much.

The weight thinkg was a big deal to me but I think the best feature is the size. I am a short person, 4 foot 9, so the reel mower seems to be built for all sizes. It is great. If we lived near eachother I could mow your lawn with my reel mower.

I have one to save money, gas and water i tore out the front lawn and put soem alpine flower mix down now the front yard is in bloom all year round in the late fall use the reel mower to knock it all down adn lime it in the sping get more fresh flower they only grow about 6 inches high it is the best money ever spent.
The kids cannot kill these either they keep comming back
