We have a wed night kids club that runs through the fall/winter/spring and a friend and i do the crafts for it... we have been doing the crafts for about 6 years and are beginning to feel 'crafted out'...we are in search of some new and fresh ideas... can anyone suggest a craft or a website that is new/different that we can use for the kids? cost of the craft doesnt matter and the ages are from 5-12 thanks in advance!!

These flowers are quick to make and children enjoy making them. Younger children may need some help with accordion-pleating the tissue paper. This project is rated EASY to do. What You Need Pastel colored tissue paper Chenille stem Scissors Ruler How To Make It Cut tissue paper into rectangles of desired size (5x7" is the size pictured). Stack 4-6 pieces of tissue paper. Use the same color or different colors. Accordion pleat the tissue paper working from the long side. Wind one end of the chenille stem around the middle of the accordion pleated tissue paper. Gently separate each layer pulling upwards toward the middle of the flower. Let the children make a couple of flowers and put them in a basket.

I don't know any websites for crafts. Although the art of folding paper is something I enjoy, but craft wise I'm sure thats not what your looking for :P ~Joey

How about bead bugs? Or from the notmartha blog, marble magnets? I like to make 'straw rockets': You need: two sizes of straws - one with a smaller diameter than the other. glue tape paper 1. take the wider straw and put a tiny piece of paper over one end. Tape the paper down 2. Attach fins to the side of the straw. (Cut out 3 triangles, colour them, and then fold them in half. Put two halves together and glue them together. Then tape the straw (Towards the bottom of the straw) to the middle of the open side. Take the third triangle and glue it to the open space, over top of the straw). 3. wrap a piece of masking tape around the middle of the smaller straw, so that there is a little flap. Write your initials on this. Put the smaller straw into the rocket straw and blow. Sorry I don't have a link. I haven't seen anyone else do this.
