My Granny hung her clothes on the line year round,my Momma hung clothes on the line in the summer,I used to hang out clothes in summer but I didn't notice a real difference in my electric bill & I'm not the type that prefers that line dried clothing feel so I just went back to using the dryer year round. How about y'all do you line dry your clothes?

I do not hang my clothes out to dry. I fact when i moved in with my then boyfriend (now hubby) and his mother they had two ploes out in the yard for hanging out clothes and after my mother in law moved out i had my hubby rip them out of the yard so i wouldnt have to mow around them anymore. Well it was both our ideas. But then we moved to a place that just had a washer and no hook up for a dryer so it was either take them to the laundry mat or hang them out most all the time i took them to the laundry mat I dont like the feeling of line dried clothing and i dont like that bugs and bees can get in there. I also like the softener scents that you can out into the dryer and make your cloths smell really good.

I dry some of my clothes in the dryer and I hang some stuff out on the line. We hang out our sheets, jeans, and pants, but other than that we use the dryer. It's not just about your electic bill though, using the sun to dry your clothes is better for them and for the earth.

Hey meme :) I don't even own a dryer so it's hang em out to dry all year round for me and my family. It's easy in Summer, as I just pop it on th eline and it's usually dry within an hour or so, but it gets tough in Winter. I have a clothes horse, plus sometimes I make up a clothes line using a rope inside my lounge room lol. I find it harder now we have a child, as they require so much more washing! And it's going to be even harder once the next one comes along in January so I think we may invest in a dryer before then. I wouldn't use it every load though, only if I fall behind with my washing, which happens to us all at the best of times I'm sure.

This is our way to make our clothes dry, too. We take advantage of the sunshine and hang them. It's the most common way here.

We don't use heater to dry our clothes. We will hang clothes outside to make it dry.

In the summer I line dry my clothes because it has a different scent to it than from the dryer. I also think it dries faster in the sun since it's so hot.

i would like to,but too many birds/clothes thieves. if you hang out something nice on the line here, you have to keep constant vigil over it.people will think nothing of coming onto your property and stealing it.sad,really.

I have to use a dryer to keep my clothes from getting wrinkled.

I just use the drier basically because I dont think there would be a big difference in my electric bill. Also, with college and work, I don't have time to hang my stuff up outside. Oh, and the weather is really unpredictable where I live, with thundershowers popping up all the time. So doing that would probably just ruin my clothes.
