California redwoods

I've been told I should go see the California redwood trees. Are they really worth seeing? Are there no other trees in the world like them? I looked at a pic of someone hiking...they look really gigantic...based on that I think I'd like to see them, but I was just wondering if there really aren't any other trees like those.
