horror movies

i am passing my university vacation. i have no too works so i can easily watch at least 2 movies daily. last week i was watching a horror movie with my cousin who is only 7 years old. the movie was so terrifying that my cousin could not sleep next 2 nights. he is still suffering from the scene showed on that movie. it is not my cousins problem only,,huge of child facing problem to watch that kind of movie. i dont find any reasoable cause why the film maker make these movie so violate. can someone share his/her views on that?
