I am a mum to 3 beautiful boys. Funny thing, all three of them are premature. The first one was no choice because I got placente Previa Type III so I had to be operated. The second one came out when he was 7 month by natural birth. The youngest one was the one that cause me to worry the most. He came out when he was only 29 weeks!! I had a natural birth. When he came out he weight 1.25Kg only. He was in the NICU for exactly 45 days before he can be discharge. During his stay at the hospital I travelled to the hospital twice a day to visit him. It was also the first time that I spend my Christmas at a Hospital. Now he is 1yrs old already. Small in size but very active. Will never forget the heartache during his stay at the hospital.

my daughter hos.pic day of release at 4 lbs and no - tina12679 daughter
I have three children as well and my oldest was a premee, i got severe pre-eclampsia when i was 28 weeks pregnant and they admitted me into the hospital and tried to keep me pregnant as long as possible which was only 2 more weeks i delivered via a C-section and she weighed 2 lbs and 6 oz. she was in the hospital for 42 days before she was able to be released. I was lucky i think because she never had any real big problems associated with prematurity all they ever did for her was keep her warm and put a tube in her nose to feed her and the very first night they had her in a oxygen bubble she did get a minor jaundice but nothing too bad. She weighed only 4 lbs the day we she was released. The hospital that she was in was a little more then a hour drive away and we didnt have a reliable vehicle to get back and forth every day, lucky for her my sister only lived 10 minutes from the hospital and visited her daily at least she didnt feel abandoned but it killed me that i couldnt be there with her every minute of the day. Half way through her days i was able to get her transfered to a closer hospital but it was still a distance to get too but it wasnt in the middle of a big city so easier to get in and out of and no traffic problems to worry about. But she is 6 1/2 now and to look at her you would of never known that she was so small and so vulnerable.

Wow! 29 weeks, that's scary! My oldest was 5 weeks early, but I had gestational diabetes so he was still 7lbs 4oz (I can't imagine if he'd gone full term!) My youngest was 3 weeks early and 7lbs 5oz. My dr told me I wouldn't be able to have a baby any bigger than him without a C-section. With both of them we came home right away from the hospital, I can't imagine having to leave them there :(

My first son was a couple of weeks early, but he was the only one of my children that was at all early. Both of my granddaughters were premature though, and it was scary. They are 2 and 3 years old now and doing well, but the oldest is still very small for her age.
