Glaucoma and other eye disorders can be possibly caused by Metered Dose Inhaler for asthmatic patients. It was stated in the medicine pack the side effects of the drugs. i've been using inhaler for almost 10 years now and i'd never noticed disorders in my eyes except the rediness often times but not as worst as glaucoma. If this issue is true is there any alternative medicine for asthma aside from inhaler?

I didn't know this about the inhalers that I use every day. I do have eye problems, although nothing like glaucoma and I doubt that they are caused by the inhalers. I am also on a nebulizer which lessens the amount that I use my inhaler, although that isn't something that would be an answer for everyone.

hi kelly, maybe inhalers that was being accidentally sprayed in the eyes or even slight absorption in the eyes could possibly cause eye disorders not in direct in take. i guess it was. Steroids can also cause obesity.

I know that the steroids have caused me to gain weight. I am on 4 different inhalers now, and I don't know how many contain steroids, but I have put on a lot of weight since I have been on these and some of the other medications I now take. Of course my thyroid problems don't help :(

YES! there is..check out this thyroid support group. The list owner is away until the end of next week, but he is a naturopath who has some excellent information, not only about the cure for asthma (I have it myslef), but the cause!. I have only been a member for a few days so I can't tell you much about it. But it has something to do with the liver dumping toxins into the lung area..but like I said, still can't give you the exact information. But this would be the place you want to go for information. He will send you a questionaire and you will get more information after that. I filled it out just before he left town and so I am still waiting for the full information. But I talked to him on the phone and he really sounds like he knows what he is doing. He has been a naturopath for over 35 years. Below is a networking profile page...check it out. Sounds good so far. Wish I had more information for you. www.ryze.com/view.php?=DrJohnVos http://groups.yahoo.com/thyroid_support_International
