This was sent to me today and I dont know how many of us out here have seen it but I do believe that most people do take things for granted. Please read all of it. Hugs! Hooaahhh! It may take you two minutes to read this, but if you do not take the time to read this you are one of the people this post is talking about. _________________________ You stay up for 16 hours. He stays up for days on end. _________________________ You take a warm shower to help you wake up. He goes days or weeks without running water. __________________________ You complain of a "headache", and call in sick. He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward. __________________________ You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends. He still fights for your right to wear that shirt. __________________________ You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket. He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags. __________________________ You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you. He knows he may not see some of his buddies again. __________________________ You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls. He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists. _________________________ You complain about how hot it is. He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow. __________________________ You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong. He doesn't get to eat today. __________________________ Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes. He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean. __________________________ You go to the mall and get your hair redone. He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today. __________________________ You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over. He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months. __________________________ You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight. He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home. __________________________ You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday. He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume. __________________________ You roll your eyes as a baby cries. He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet __________________________ You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything. He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting. __________________________ You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him. He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded. __________________________ You see only what the media wants you to see. He sees the broken bodies lying around him. __________________________ You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't. He does exactly what he is told. __________________________ You stay at home and watch TV. He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat. __________________________ You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable. He tries to sleep but gets woken by mortars and helicopters all night long. ____________________________ You sit there and judge him, saying the world is probably a worse place because of men like him. If only there were more men like him ___________________________ If you support your troops, resend this with a "Hooaahhh!" If you don't support your troops well, then don't resend, it's not like you know the men and women that are dying to preserve your right. we do take so many things for granted!!!!!!!!

Thank you for passing this along. As the mother in law of two who have already served, passing this along means so much! Everyone does take things for granted including the honor to live in such a great nation. Thanks again!

Hey Hoghoney, I agree we all take these things for granted especially the younger generations who hasn't never had a hard life or anything. I have also taken things for granted after reading this I am quite ashamed of myself for it to. These boys and girls work hard and have to live like animals sometimes just so we can be free and live life like we want to. I know we will never know the true horrors these people will see or hear, because they just want to forget about it. It is nothing like what ever we can imagine it's worse. So I give a BIG HOAHHHHHH! and I hope you don't mind if I send this to fellow friends and family..thanks Hoghoney.

You can send this to as many people as you like to that is the only way to get the word out. You know I still make up these small care boxes to send to our troops it is just a way to say thank you for everything. And somethime I think about what it say here of our cell phones, I myself have sent three cell phones to the troops last year it was all the extra ones that we had here, But I know that one of our guys can talk to their family. HHHHOOOOAAAAHHHHHHHHHH TO THEM. Hugs!

Thanks Hoghoney I appreciate it. I have never sent anything to the troops first because I haven't a clue how to, and another I rarely have enough money to get by on myself and cannot afford to send anything anywhere, and the only cell phone I have won't even work where I live I can only use it in town so it wouldn't do them much good to have only a 5 mile range . It would be cool though if alot of people where I live and around could start a support your troops donations post so people could make up care boxes. I don't think they are anything like that here where I live. I will be sending this to everyone I know I hope that they will send it to everyone they know and so forth.. thanks..

That is great, but if you want to send thing to the troops you can make up small boxes of things like, baby wipes, snacks, you can even send them phone cards that they can use on pay phones and stuff like that. you can get more information from your National Guard Armory where you live at. Hugs!

Yes we do take things for granted very much and when we have to do without we realize how important it is to us When we see things on the News we also see how lucky we are compared to others

Yes I have always tried to live a simple life, because I know that there are others out there that are worse off them I am. And I also thank these guys for all of their efforts so that I can have the life I got. I have another friend that has just signed up for the Army and will be getting ready to head to boot camp soon and he sent this to me saying that this is why he is doing this so that we can still live in a free land. Bless his heart. Hugs!

Hi Hoghoney, Yes we do take these things for granted and we need little things like this now and then to remind us of what those men and women in the service are doing for us and what they are giving up. Thanks for sharing, Terry

Yes, for example the air that we breathe. This is a basic thing that we have been taking for granted. The air is getting polluted and as time passes by, it gets more polluted. What would we do if one day there would be no oxygen to breathe? I hope people would start to have some concern on small matters like this. Have a nice day.

yes the air and while we have kind of clean air to breath our troops are over there breathing dust and god knows what ever else.

Thank you so much for sharing this honey - it really does make you think about how lucky and protected we are! I do feel that out troops have a hard thankless task and no matter what your opinion of the war may be we should all be proud of and grateful to these men and women who risk life and limb to protect us! We should all keep them in our prayers - I know I do!
