Here in the big apple we're having really bad thunderstorms..between the heat wave we are experiencing and the storms tonight it's created scattered blackouts..so to play it safe..I might not be here as much as I intended...last thing I want is a drastic power surge and screw up my computer system.. And how's the weather where you are??

All is calm and quiet here. I keep asking you to send rain! I hope you don't get any surges. I usually unplug everything when we get thunderstorms.

If my Kissy were with you she'd be either under your covers too, or maybe your bed...storms don't phase my Pyewacket in the least--storm didn't cool things down though--is it cooler there yet?

Here in Texas we have had CRAZY weather for over a week now, raining everyday, if not rain, it looks like rain, dark clouds, thunder, a sprinkle and then a downpour and then the floods. Living here for so many years I have grown used to this kind of weather, but usually we have breaks where we get a few days of sunshine, but not as of lately!! Take care, my friend!

Not weird for Texas, I live 50 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and we get alot of rain, more than the usual Texas cities since we are so close to the Gulf. But this rain usually comes in April and May, not late June like this, we have 10 days of straight rain as of today!

last night was a false alarm-but right now,it looks like any moment..the news says it's bad upstate. my blue is acting funny,he does what we call "weather announcements" and he's doing it right now,so this time i think we're gonna get it. i think the air pressure pops his poor lil ears.

It was kind of stormy yesterday. Nothing major in this area. Partly sunny today and mild. It is always a good idea to shut off the computer during a storm.

I’m in upstate NY—luckily the storm missed most of us- We had a few rain drops- I was hoping for more so that I didn’t have to water the garden and the flowers- No such luck! I hope everything is good now for you- I saw last night it was still storming right up the coast- No—wouldn’t want the computer to be fried due to a storm!

Oh my – even reading your post made me scared! I think I’ve posted here before, that the worst thing in the world for me is thunder and lightening, and I am terrified of it. Luckily, we don’t get very much extreme weather here in the UK – it’s more temperate, - but also very wet – especially in Summer. So as I sit here in my office, I look out of the window and see clouds, and nice, soft, gentle, English rain! Temperatures about 14 C. We haven’t had a day without rain for about 4 weeks now, which many people think is terrible, but I would rather this than your storms! Take care and be safe

Well neighbor, they promised us storms all evening but we did not get them until about 9:15 and they weren't really storms, certainly nothing that should cause a weather advisory like the weather channel gave us. We got some rain...it is 11:30PM and it seems like it is gone, but I do hope this cold front broke the heat. I do not have AC and I live in a brown house...it heats up like an oven.

From what I can figure just a few hours after you posted this discussion the storm hit here in lower Michigan - we had hail, winds, the whole bit. I learned one thing though you don't want to be in a loft with 4 huge skylights and tons of windows during a storm like this. Grandson and I ran downstairs and watched the storm from there.

OMG--no I wouldn't think you would want to be near a storm and exposed like that with so many skylights and windows...

Hello.pyeracket, the temperature in sydney is not rwally good, rain continues and the temperature is getting lower and lower. I think the weather in your area is just like what i experienced few weeks ago, although there were not any storms at that time, heavy rainfall had been dropped during that whole week.

Hi pyewacket, Sorry to hear you have to sign off for awhile, hope you'll be back soon. Weather in Southern Canada has been strange this year. Tornados, tornado watches, thunderstorms, rain, rain and more rain with of course, high humidity. Then yesterday it turned rather cool with a frost warning. Thankfully that did not occur and my vegetable and annuals are fine. We did close the window and add another blanket...felt odd for this time of year...we are usually enjoying our, hot, long days of summer. Apprciated your comments about Shrek on my site. Stay dry and we'll look forward to hearing from you when you can check in again.

Considering Iam in Connecticut that storm is heading my way. I was chatting with a friend today who lives in Pennsylvania and he lost power twice in an hour due to the storm. Iam not looking forward to getting it but at least I have an idea as to what to expect and I will turning off my computer tonight to avoid a power surge.

We have been getting some varied storms passing through for the past week now. Some that are teasers of it will rain...no its not...yes it is. Now we have given up going into the pool until we know it is safe. So, it is best to play it safe for you also. We will be here when you get back. :)

I was watching the weather channel and they were talking about the power failures in your area. I hope you don't lose your power. Luckily we didn't get the storms. They all went south of us but we were under a severe thunderstorm watch until 8pm. Its still about 75 degress here but the rest of the week is supposed to be cooler.
