You know that old phrase that says if you don't have anything nice to say you shouldn't say anything at all. Maybe that's just kitchen wisdom, not sure.
Anyway, easier said than done.
Nowadays, whenever someone says something rude or nasty to me, my first thought is to quickly retort. It takes real effort not to come back with some quick jab. But, somehow I manage.
So, what's your secret for keeping nasty or mean comments from coming out of your mouth? Do you bite your lip? Say a silent prayer? Smile and walk away? Please share your techniques for keeping your cool.

Beauty,
Here are some things I learned to implement myself as I tend to have a somewhat explosive personality when it comes to reactions to negative comments:
1- Put yourself in the other persons shoes
2-Learn to think before you respond
3-Realize that you may be over reacting
4- leave, have a drink, drive or take a walk if it is still flaming fires in you them come back and write a proper non emotional response but do not post it. Sleep it over and decide the next day
5-ALWAYS BE OBJECTIVE and realistic and extremely preoffessional. People get ticked off when you actually outsmart them rather than having them take control over your emotions by firing back at them.
Smile :) life is truly too short!

Truly very few people are rude to me....but if it happens...I smile and true to gather my thoughts...I believe in nicely showing them what an a$$ they are being...or I walk away....
Life is too short to allow the ignorance of one person to ruin my day......
OR that is how I feel

I just try to smile and walk away. It is not always easy to do but in the end I feel better than if I resort to treating them the way they were treating me. It has become easier for me lately as I realize my son watches and learns from my every move.
