What's the strangest thing your mom made you eat when you were a kid?

Once when I was a kid, my mom accidentally bought cream corn and served it to us for lunch along with some hotdogs. It looked so gross that I gagged with every bite. And, when she realized what she'd done she still insisted that we eat the cream corn. It did not taste good. Odd considering now I actually like cream corn. Lots of sugar and carbs, I suppose. So, what's the grossest thing that your mom ever made you eat? Did you eat it or not?

My mom tried to trick us once by cutting up a ruttabegga to look like french fries. She fried them up and served them with ketchup. Yuck they were disgusting.

Actually the only thing our mom ever really made us sit at the table and eat was saurkrat. There were 4 of us kids and none of us would try a bite. She told us that if we didnt eat it we couldnt get done. Of course us being kids and wanting to get done and play...we quickly ate it down. My brother though, he was quite stubborn and wouldnt eat it, not even take a bite. Mom FINALLY let him down at 8pm. We thought it was sooo unfair, LOL. Weird becuase now I actually like saurkraut. My brothers and sister dont though, LOL

My mother made us eat some really gross things when I was growing up and to this day, I still hate them and I will not eat them ever! Liver and onions; canned salmon; and Spam. Those three things I remember as being so gross to me and they still are.

I guess it would be beef liver and onions...I thought that it would instantly make me sick....it sounded disgusting to me...but it wasn't too bad...as an adult I must admit that I do not eat it often but have a few times.... I do not force my children to eat things they do not like BUT I do insist that they at least try it before they decide whether or not they like it...

We always ate macaroni and tomatoes, I mean plain elbows with canned tomatoes with pepper and margarine and nothing else, we lived off this, I come from a big family. I do not eat this anymore but one of my sisters, she makes it all the time, she loves the stuff.
