You don't have to put in your bank information, I sure didn't! I verified it through the other method PayPal offers - they make two transfers into your account (just a couple of cents) and you then have to enter what those two amounts are. That's the way I verified it since I didn't want to enter my bank password.. and hey, I gained 27 cents in the process! Hehe! :)

You can purchase things with paypal anywhere pay[pal is accepted. Basically, having a verified account only affects you if you want to use it for commercial purposes. I think it gets verified if you do like 10 transactions. I can't remember how I did to mine. I'm sure you can email them and ask them.

I have mine verified through my bank. The reason is I like to send all my money to my bank.. also I put a credit card.. on there as well. and now I can withdraw all the money I want.. and not have the 500 dollar limit each money. I really like paypal they are great! E gold is the next best thing to them.

if you will verify your paypal account then you can get a debit card which can be used anywhere a credit card is accepted. Paypal is very safe to use. I have had a verified account with them for 7 years and so far no problems.
