Internet Explorer Won't Open!

Thankfully I usually use Firefox as my browser, but for some things I need IE, and now it won't open. Everytime I click on the icon, I get the message: "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I've reported the problem, but I doubt that will do anything. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting it working again?

try restarting your computer if that dont work go and restore computer to a earlier date it might be infected or try re downloading internert expolorer i know lots of people that are not able to use it at the moment sometime comes good if try those tips if not will have to wait til they fix it on there end

There are other people that can't use it currently? So maybe it's just a temporary glitch?

Typically these problems come from an add-on, such as Yahoo toolbar, weather toolbars, etc. See if you have any of these installed and if so, go to "Add/Remove Programs" and remove them. If this does not fix the problem, I would suggest uninstalling it then reinstalling (it is important to uninstall first as this will reset all IE settings). If all else fails, switch to Avant as the other user suggested. Avant is not bad but it certainly isn't as feature rich as IE or Firefox. Hope this helps.
