Any instruments count, even if you are a manualist (play music by making farting sounds with your hands). Even the recorder back in 3rd grade, and the clarinet back in 4th grade count. I have played Piano for 10 years trumpet for 6 years, a little saxophone for 2 years, tuba for less than 1 year, sousaphone since April, and trombone since the beginning of summer (I am going to learn it over the summer for this next school year). What are your favorite songs?
