Of course, I mean of the television remote control....LOL
In my home, most of the time...it sits in my husbands hand....I am usually very busy with the house and kids...then when I have "free time" I am here at myLot...so TV selection belongs to him...
Who has control of the remote control in your home??

When my husband is at home, he has control of the remote. Like you I am normally too busy doing other stuff to really care that he has it. I just wait until everyone has gone to bed and then I get the remote. And this is normally the time of day that all my shows come on. So everyone in the house is happy with this arrangement. I will share with you a card that I just got my husband for his birthday. I think you will like it.
Front of card:
Honey, you've shared
so much with me over the years--
The good times...
the bad times...
the laughter...
the tears...
Inside of card:
Everything but the remote!
Happy Birthday,
Anyway

Well, my armchair is closest to the side table, where the remotes are kept, so I generally get them first. It depends on whether there is a chick flick on before I hand them over to my wife, otherwise I might be stuck watching that, lol! Don't get me wrong, I do watch them with my wife at times, as long as I don't have to do it everynight, lol!

Occasionally a good "chick flick" catches my eye and I have to leave myLot alone....but most evenings, hubby has control of the remote and he gets to listen to me type here at myLot...hehe
tap tap tap...he says he hears it in his sleep....LOL

There is only two of us at home and most of the time I have the full control as he's at work, my housemate that is, we don't fight over it, I prefer to work on my computer anyhow so he is welcome to the tv, there is not much tv I watch to be honest, unless there is a good horror film on, or a few programmes I watch every day like my soaps or scifi.

It really depends, sometimes its my husband and sometimes its me. I couldn't say that one of us had more control of it then the other.

My husband naturally, and I think this happens in a million other households! Lucky for me I'm not a TV fanatic, I spend very little time there, and thank heavens, because he will drive me bonkers. My study/office is upstairs but there is a opening to the TV room and when I sit in front of my computer, I get all mixed up as to which program he is actually watching, because of him changing channels every 5 minutes

Nay, it is not imortant to me either....I would rather be here with ya'll, my friends than to be entertained by the nonsense that passes for entertainment on tv anymore...LOL

I am the same way...fortunately, my laptop is wireless, so I can sit on the couch in the same room with him and he is totally content..except for the occasional teasing about living in office where the typing is continual...LOL

We pretty equally share control around our house. During the day my son demands it be on PBS Kids. During prime time we all know what we like to watch and the rest of the time the remote stays pretty centrally located. It becomes a matter of who enters the room first. It is on sports if my husband enters first and home/garden shows if I do. Bathroom breaks by one or the other means the tv is fair game. We have a pretty good system working.

In my house the television remote control stay always in hands even when I'm not watching television sometimes; I think that sooner or later my girlfriend will destroy it, that day we have to select channels manually, I'm scared of that day; anyway still now it is hidden in a secret place she won't find it never... lol :D

Everyone! Because sadly we have many TV's, so if someone doesn't like what's on they will go to another TV. But if we are all in the same room, I usually control it because my hubby doesn't care (unless there's sports on, then he's definitely in control).

Hello, tinamwhite,i have a television in my bedroom and of course i have 100 % control of the remote control,i can watch the channels or programme according to my own interests as no one is going to compete the television with me.lol, but most of the time,i tend to switch on the television and treat the noise as the background one,i do not really pay much attention to it.

In our household the adults are the ones who have control of the remote. The adult in control of the remote is the first person to sit down with it actually. It really doesn't matter because we like to watch the same programs so we turn on one channel and leave it there. If for some reason one of us doesn't like what the other one is watching we can go in to our bedroom to watch what we want.
We basically have the same rule for the children as well. The first child in the living room has control of the remote until the adult enters the room. My daughter is the only one who has a television in her room because the boys decide to pour water in to their television.

in my home, if I am there for seeing the Tv then it is in my hand. No way i can give it to him or anybody else, i cant enjoy the TV if the remote is in another hand. As long as I am here or upto something else then anybody can enjoy the control.....but if i go I need it......badly!!!!!

In our house, well it depends who first hand the remote. If my younger brother first hands it,then he has all the power to change the channels whenever he wanted to. But sometimes i grab it from him and change the channel..heheh
