A friend of mine loves collecting ink pens, he still uses them even though there if fear of ink being washed off in rain. I use only ballpoint pens - they give permanent writing, although my handwriting has become worse (it was never good) with them.

I love using pens to write. Pencils are so boring to write with. But diffirent colored pens make it so much fun to write. I love buying new colored pens to write with.

Four year is a long time, do you ever wish you could still use ink pen. Of course if you keep loosing pens then the ballpoint pens are the ones for you as they are more economical.

I am not using ink pen since last 10 years. Though I use gell pen of different model. I used to use ink pen when I was student. I find the gel pen very easy in writing. Ink pen sometime pore out. I can write well with gel pen but not with gel pen so I stopped using ink pen.

I also have not seen any ink pen that did not leak, they all stain our fingers, but the only advantage is that you handwriting is better with ink pens.

I've always had to use fountain pens at (high)school, and I really prefer writing with them too. My handwriting is so much neater, I think the ink is cleaner too and it's much more easy to erase, not with all the mess white-out makes. For writing letters, I even use the old-fashioned pens you constantly have to dip in an ink bottle before you can write with them (I don't know what they're called in English), that writes even prettier for some reason.

I know the kind of pen you mean, with a nib that has to be dipped in ink pot. I didn't know they still existed. They are to improve your writing, because you have to write slowly for an even writing. I have used that only a few times in childhood, but with the ball point we get better speed, which is very important for my work.

Hi, dhhattji, When I was in School, I was using fountain pen. When the dot pen came into market, from that time onwards I have been using dot pen only. I feel it is better to use dot pen than that of fountain pen. Have a nice day.

In school we had no choice- we had to use ink pens only - I don't know if they allow ball point pens in schools now.
