I thought maby we could all share some frugal desserts with one another. I have been having trouble finding cheaper "bedtime snacks" for my 2 toddlers. I found this one the other day online somewhere....I think here actually and IT WAS SOOOOOOOO GOOD! LOL
1 row of oreo cookies
1 container cool whip
Crumble cookies, mix the 2 together and freeze for a couple of hours. Serve.
It Is ABSOLUTLEY DELICIOUS!!! I loved it, kids loved it and hubby loved it. SOOO GOOD! So does anyone else have any frugal desserts to share?

Wow, I love this one and would like to try it, aside from the fact that it does not cost much its also very easy to prepare. Thank you very much my friend.

mmm that does sound good! My boyfriend and I were on a bit of an eating spree the other day, and didn't have much in the cupboards, so we made a similar thing. We took plain digestive biscuits and chocolate spread, crumbled the biscuits into the chocolate spread, mixed them together and hey-presto! It was amazing! next time I'll try it frozen, cos that sounds really nice!
Another of my favourites is to make your own fruit ice lollies, or ice cubes. You can usually get ice-lolly makers from the super market or something, which is basically just a large ice cube tray. Fill the trays with dilutes squash or fruit juice, and then add some pieces of fruit - orange, banana, peach, grapes of whatever - and freeze them! They are so delicious!
And yet another of my favourites is to mix milk with some strawberry cordial - either the sauce you put on ice-cream, or the milk-shake making sauce you can get, and then pour the milk into an ice-cube tray and freeze it! It makes a delicious creamy dessert!

That sounds positively YUMMY! I love Oreo’s. How about this one-
Ice cream sandwiches—you buy a pack and put them in a cake dish- Put Cool whip on top of the sandwiches, then you drizzle melted chocolate and Caramel over the top- I even add crushed nuts- and freeze it- It’s great when it is hot out- and it certainly satisfies people who love chocolate!

wooo.... that sounds like a great way to sooth a sweet tooth!
have you tried it with other flavored cookies?
How about with fruits?
I know it is easy to make cocktail jellies. Just a packet of the powdered jelly, a can of mixed fruit cocktail and some water. Placing the canned mixed fruits in separate serving containers, cook the jelly powder as instructed on the box and distribute equally about the serving containers. Place them in the fridge to chill till hardened.
If you like, you can add some almond slivers when serving. A really cheap and good desert, especially on a hot summer day!
