Do you ever get mad or upset when someone parks in your "usual" parking spot? Even though it's not labeled with your name... "reserved for so and so" and it's a free public parking spot for anyone do you still get bent out of shape when people park there? I know I do. When I lived in row homes and all these cars would park badly in front of my house leaving no room for the person who actually lives there to park! Or at work when I get into the garage at 7:45 and someone is parked in the spot I always park in! Of course you don't really have the right to be mad, it's not reserved for you. But still...it's yours! Do you have "your" spot anywhere?

My husband and I have a 'spot' at the grocery store that he really gets worked up about if someone takes it. It's right next to be buggy return and it's close to the entrance. I'm glad someone else feels the need to claim a spot...not just us.:)

Nooooo.. I'm totally like that at both my work garage and my house. I share a driveway with... uh like 7 or 8 other cars AND my landlords work vehicles. I have "My" spot and I hate when someone parks there. It's normally someone picking up my landlords workers or something but still! My landlord also has a boat and he'll sometimes put the boat near my spot so I can barely manuever into it. Oh it makes me so angry. And at work.. like I get there at 7:45. It's a garage for the library, which doesn't open till 9 and Court...which doesn't start till 9. Why are other people there so early!? in MY spot. it's a convenient spot to leave, that's for sure... but there are plenty of closer spots. makes me crazy!

my brother gets totally bent out of shape if someone steals "his" spot in front of the house. i keep telling him deal..we have a driveway. parking lots are a bit more understandable though.we have people here that jump right in front of you while you're trying to back in.

that's what he's started doing..makes it easier to find his car too-he has a generic one that looks like 20 around it.

Ha ha. Yeah having the generic cars suck. I hated last month when my car was in the shop and I had a rental. I went through 4 rentals in a month for one thing (don't even ask why!) and I couldn't remember what car I was looking for first...Plus they were cars everyone had! I have a mazda 3 hatchback...black not as common of a car.

Ha ha. Yeah... if you have a driveway it's different then again I have a driveway and I hate when people park in my spot in my driveway!!!! I hate when people jump in front of me! Usually when I go to stores I totally park far away just so I don't have to deal with other cars.

Ha ha. My neighbors will do that too if they're parked in my spot and see me coming in. I live in a single home area but the driveway is shared by two single homes and I live in the garage apartment. So there's like 10 cars parked in one driveway area. My spot is obviously right by the stairs to my apartment so I hate when people park there!

I have a favorite spot back in Singapore when I go to mom place. It is near the lobby of the flat. Unfortunately, that is other people favorite spot too! I will get disappointed if it is taken up and my parent will laugh and tease me that I had to park elsewhere.

Ha ha. I know I hate when people park in my spot at work! My co-worker always makes fun of it. "I see someone got your spot today." and I always park right next to it but it's just not the same. I know exactly how to perfectly back into that spot...not any other spot!

Such things happen occasionally, anger is useless as some people are being unreasonable

as i said "of course you don't have the right to be mad, it's not reserved for you". The point wasn't to point out being unreasonable... the point was to talk about "your spot" even though it's unreasonable. the obvious doesn't always need to be pointed out.

Well, there are people who absentmindedly park because of a hectic day or being late for something big in his/her job. Plus we must also consider those who are not 'regular' in the building or simply failed to see that that spot was yours because it didn't have a name anyways. I do have a 'spot' somewhere but it's ok if someone uses that one, it simply meant that he/she was there first. There's what we call, first come first served notice as an invisible rule. Well, unless you are the owner of that spot, or the president of the United States. *LOL* Here's a joke to keep the topic light: A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter. Then he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: "I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES." When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note. "I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket, I'll lose my job. Lead Us Not Into Temptation." =)

Well. The point of my post was all in jest as I'm pretty positive that I clearly stated that you have no right to be mad seeing as how it's public parking and the spot isn't actually reserved with a sign that says it's for you. Just because you have no right to be mad, just because this person has every right to be there, doesn't mean you can't still get upset that someone parked in "your" spot. whether it's first come first serve or not. I believe the topic was light from the beginning. It was never meant to be taken literally. But nice joke.

Yeah I guess. But whenever this happens to me, I just think of going there earlier next time so that he/she couldn't take 'my spot'. It's like racing for the spot. *LOL* What's pretty upsetting is when you're in a hurry and there's no spot to park and you're running late. Now, that's upsetting. =)

Yeah i do get upset when someone parks their car in the spot where i park my car. This spot is below my building and many a times someone from my building park their car in that spot. They have their own garage but still at times they will park their vehicle at the spot where i park. Luckily there is a bike repairer just opposite my building who he is very friendly to me. So he parks his bike whenever i remove my car and when i return home, he removes his bike and lets me park. So it's good nowadays that since he reserves my parking, i can freely remove my car. Otherwise earlier it used to be very difficult and i had to park my car at 10-15 minutes walking distance from my place.

That's nice that you have the friendlyness with the bike repairer. My friend doesn't have parking in her building. there are 4 spots for people on a first come first serve sorta basis. Across the street is a concert hall and there's a man who constantly parks in one of those 4 spots when he has a parking garage he doesn't even have to pay for because he's part of the orchestra. She gets so mad. He has no right to park there you know!
