Aaah...they climbed out their window!

No I don't mean teenagers...my little boys only 2 and 4 years old climbed out their bedroom window to sneak outside and play! I knew they were in their room playing while I fed the baby so I wasn't worried. Then I heard a noise from the front porch and wondered who it was since I hadn't heard a car. It was the 4 year old pulling his mud boots on. They figured out how to unlock the window and put the screen up and since their room is ground level it wasn't too far to drop. These two are just so mischievious! It is a little bit funny although I'm hiding the chuckles so the think I really am mad about. So what mischief have your little ones gotten into lately? (and any ideas on how to "lock" a screen window, it's too hot to keep their window shut all the time.)

That is so funny! Very intelligant kids you have there:) My kids are older, but when they were little I hired a neighbor boy to babysit and he taught them how to jump out their bedroom window. I was so mad! Later my kids said that they were practicing in case of a fire~ I didn't fall for it. I haven't heard of anyways to lock a screen. Just tell them they will be punished if they do it again because if they are outside without your knowledge they could get hurt and you wouldn't know it.

LOL my ex-hubby and his brothers tried using the same excuse when they got caught climbing out their windows. Their parents didn't believe them either! I really spoke to the 4 year old about why that was so dangerous. He kept rationalizing things like only a four year old can do so we'll see what happens.

Just so you know, it is practice for when they get older:) My now 18 yr old use to sneak out of the window when he was 16 to go into town (2miles from our house) to meet his friends. Now we can laugh about it.

Those little imps....how funny....sounds like something one of mine would do.... I would purchae a box fan and put it in the window facing out and pull some breeze through the house...it would not really lock the screen but it would provide a boundry that they would be unable to remove without alerting you to what is up....LOL While it is funny to think about them being so creative...it also makes me wonder about potential safety risks....I also think a fan in the window would alert you to someone trying to get in from outside of that window... Have a great day, my dearest friend...

A window fan is probably a great idea! Both to keep them from doing this again and to give me anothing funny discussion when they stick something odd into it lol...I know my boys! I doubt the dog would let a stranger anywhere near the house so I don't usually worry about that but you never know.
