Can Internet Dating really be DANGEROUS?

I read some article this mmorning and this all about Online Love affair..the article says that internet dating continues to grow in poplularity worldwide and the internet romances may blossom quickly,but they often wither when reality sets in.still there is a greater cause for concern than mere dissapointment it also stated that dating in this fashion may put you in serious danger whether physical,emotional,or spiritual..Is it really true?? do you agree with this? what can you say about this?

I think it can be dangerous, but not much more so than offline dating. I mean, how often do you hear about people who left a bar with someone and were never seen again, or people who are murdered or abused by their partners they met in totally normal ways?
I think the key to any kind of dating is to think very carefully about the situation. Whether it's online or offline, always keeping your expectations realistic and remembering to plan things in ways that keep you safe. Going anywhere with someone you don't know well, whether you met them online or offline, is something you have to consider carefully, as is giving out too much personal information.
Personally I met my husband online, over eight years ago now. Our relationship is wonderful, and I can't imagine what my life would be like had we not met.
