Green Zuchinni - I found this today. Shocked me as it came so suddenly.
It's going to taste so good breaded and fried later today.

I planted 2 green zuchinni plants this year as well. I had not forgotten about them, but I haven't been paying a lot of attention to them. Well as I went to weed the garden this stared at me saying, "Bob, bread me up, slap me in a pan of hot oil and fry me up. I am going to taste so good." HAHAHA! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~!

I am my fathers caregiver and don't have a job outside the home. So I am here all the time and do a lot of garden and yard work. In 3 years time I have become quite the gardener I've been told. I run in and out of the house doing my gardening and yard work as I am online here. HAHAHA!! Eating the zuchinni Saturday for lunch with the wife more than likely. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

If you let them grow big enough you can core them out and stuff with meat load which is really good. Use the cored squash in the meat loaf. You can stuff if bread crumbs and cheese that is good also. I love breaded and fried, saute and steemed also.

I let a couple grow ;ast year. One had to be 3 feet long and 2 feet thick. It didn't taste good but looked awesome. HAHAHA. They say pick them when they're about 8 to 12 inches long for the best taste and texture. Longer then they get a bit tough and harsher tasting. nOW MEATLOAF STUFFED ZUCHINNI SOUNDS DIFFERENT. I take a lot of my zuchinni to my wifes restaraunt where they serve it fried with other vegetables. Her boss likes that I bring my fresh veggies for him to serve. Last year I think I had maybe 100 zuchinni's total all season. This year maybe half that as I planted only 2 plants this year. Thanks for the response BTW. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Another healthy green vegeatable for your meals. I rated your photo & wrote a comment. Here is a great zucchini recipe: You would just need to get low salt soup, so it is suitable for you Dad. Zucchini and Stuffing Casserole This zucchini casserole is made with shredded carrots, sliced zucchini, butter, onion, and seasoned stuffing, along with cream of chicken soup and sour cream. INGREDIENTS: 4 medium zucchini 6 tablespoons butter, divided 1/2 cup shredded carrot 1/2 cup chopped onion 2 1/2 cups herb seasoned stuffing cubes, divided 1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup 1/2 cup sour cream PREPARATION: Cut zucchini into 1/2-inch slices. Put zucchini into a saucepan; cover with water and a little salt. Cook until tender; drain well and set aside. In the same saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of the butter; cook carrot and onion until

Well that's a nice surprise to stumble across! What other kind of vegetables do you like to grow? I've never had much luck with a garden. I guess I never really took the time to learn about it. I'm sure it could be a fun hobby if you know what you're doing.

Let's see, I've got onions, green peppers, green beans, gypsy peppers, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, zuchinni and corn as far as I can recall. That's it for this year. I have a decent sized yard for a city home. Hahaha! Then I've my apple trees, strawberries, and rasberries as edible things I am growing this year. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Haha. Today I was outside & my aunt hollered over (lives across the road from me) to ask if I wanted any cucumbers or zuchinni. I told her I'd take a few of each. Then she started tellin me how she cooks them & asked how I planned to fix them. I just looked at her & said "Oh lord. Im not gonna eat these things! I use them on my face" She thought i had lost my mind so I explained to her how I use them. Now she is going to give it a try. Your post reminded me of that & I just started laughin when I thought of the look on her face.

That looks like a nice sized one. I love zucchini, so I planted 6 plants this year. I've been getting about 4 or 5 a day that size. I've made a ton of fried zucchini and zucchini bread and frozen a lot. I'm running out of ideas of what to do with them.

Zuchinni is prolific and very tolerant of neglect. Two plants should be enough to feed you, your family, your neighbors, and half of the town you live in. But Ummm! it is good. Ever tried using the blossoms in cooking. They are really good. You just have to watch for the male flowers. The females ones have a little bulb at the end even before they are fertilized.

OK-- now I'm jealous! I love zuchini ! I prefer it sliced up and drizzled with italian dressing and then grilled on the grill! OMG-- my mouth is watering- I can already taste it- and I have to wait another couple of weeks- I'm going to the garden in a few minutes to check out the veggies- I hope to have at least a flower on the zuchini and squash!

I once grew zukes years ago. It was so easy and we enjoyed a good crop. Recently I planted some and they grew well and flowered, the fruit would begin to form then wither and die. Someone told me I had to pollinate them manually with a paintbrush. Bulldust! What a rip off....why didn't they just bear fruit like before?

Great job, enjoy them gardener Bob. I had years like that, too. And I used to fry them, too. Leftovers from frying (because there were so many) I put in a bowl with a little vinegar sauce and a tiny bit of garlic and I put them in the fridge and they turned quickly into mediterranian antipasti, a really delicious cold salad. Happy munching, grandpa Bob!

I heat about one inch of olive oil in a pan on a medium heat. Slice the zuchinni into quarter inch thick slices. Dip them in egg and milk mixed. then set them in a coating of whatever friend breading one likes. Fry till golden brown then enjoy. I love em fried like this. I use a store bought chicken or pork seasoned coating mix. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Farmers with wheelbarrow - Grandpa Bob!
I'm so jealous of your green thumb grandpa Bob! I can't grow a thing and I try all the time. Some day it's going to work. How was your zucchini? Great I'll bet!
