Just in time for the 4th of July, the American Bald Eagle has been taken off the endangered species list! I hope they taste as good as snowy owl! Nah, nothing tastes as good as they do. ;~D

I've actually seen a bald eagle here in Arkansas on my own property. It use to come regularily to my neighbor's pond where he raises catfish. One day it made a side trip to my smaller pond. It was pretty neat, seeing one in the wild. However, we started hanging around the neighbor's pond with cameras and when it realized we'd be there almost everyday, it quit coming, even for the easy meal.

Wild bald eagles seem to be really really people shy. The one I saw on my property left the second it saw me. In the 25 years I've lived here I've seen about 7 bald eagles. Almost always near water. 2 I saw were merely soaring in the air, white head clearly visible. I have noticed that other raptors will clear the area when a bald eagle shows up. Around here the bald eagle is boss of the sky.

They will go back to the list in 5 years maximum...some politicians never learn...and i don't mind how they taste...

If they don't want them back on the list, they should encourage the organization of a Bald Eagle hunting club. There has never been a species with a hunting club whose population didn't go up.

Im one against hunting, and was kinda disturbed by you wanting to kill the eagle. at least, your gonna eat it, i dont have a problem wit killing if your gonna eat it. but, dont you think its a little too soon to start hunting them? thats the reason they were on the endangered list in the first place.
