do we really have to have a routine?

most of us have our daily routine... it makes our daily life organized and as well as boring. i have read a book... entitled "Veronica Decides to die"... it's about a young woman who had everything she needs but was bored on her daily routine. Hmp... I know boredom is not a valid reason to kill someone's self but she just cant get out on the world she never wanted to live. she thought, she can only be at peace through death. how about you? do you have a daily routine? Does it make you a positive response on your character? Or it only gives you a reason to get bored and be insane?
