I am very curious why some women likes to have a tan skin. My skin is brown because i came from Philippines. Here in America there are lots of tanning place and my husband said its expensive. Its funny because i want to have a white skin and others they want to have a tan skin. Can you share your opinion? Thanks!

I am happy with the colour of my skin and I dont like to tan or whitening my skin.It is the common man's attitude to copy other,s style.

I dont bother with tanned skin anymore. Too much sun isnt good for your skin. Tanning salons arent either. They have harmful rays that can cause cancer. But, when i was younger i was always at the beach getting a tan. I was very lucky that i tanned so easily. Best wishes to you

I really don't think it's expensive. It's just like many of the other things women do like going to a salon or gym. I think that a lot of why women want to be tan is because celebrities usually are and the media tells us that we look better with a healthy glow. Depending on our location some of us get really pale by the time winter is over. I don't go out of my way to get a tan though because I just don't have time. I get a little darker from being outside some in the summer and that has to be good enough for me.

Hello, happymom,i think women with tan skin is very pretty,i also see many south east asian women with tan skin,it seems that they have inborn tan skin. Tan skin also give people an impression of healthy, may be that is the reason why people want to tan their skins. I have a white skin,i also want to see how i will look like with tan,but it seems that my skin is still white in color even i like to have sunbathing.

I like having a tan during the summer just so I don't burn so easily when I get out in the sun. But I don't go out of my way to get a tan. I don't use tanning beds or lay out in the sun. I just get my tan from doing day to day outdoor activities.

I don't understand it either, personally. I guess some women just don't like looking pale, but I enjoy it! Aside from that, it's really not good for your skin to subject it to sunlight a lot, whether the sunlight is real or fake!
