As long as the water is going into my system I make sure that the water is boiled. In Singapore, water is supposed to be safe to drink direct from the tap but I feel that it is better to boil the water before I ingest it. I always feel that the water may be 'clean' but the pipes through which it runs through may not and there could be all kinds of germs that may get into the water.

The water here in the USA is supposed to be clean too,but I rather be safe than sorry.I never thought about the pipes.Good point.

At home I have a pitcher with a water filter so I drink filtered water. I will usually fill up a big, reusable, water bottle everyday and carry that with me. I don't often buy bottled water because its somewhat wasteful, especially since I have the water filter.

Here the bottled water (what they call mineral water) is prohibitively expensive compared to the earnings. Therefore the tap water is boiled, coled and filtered and then consumed to be on safer side.
