what do you think young people prefer to stand in front of tv ("watching nothing") instead of reading a good book?! Do you think governments should establish new education so that people "get use" to read?!

well i believe that reading encourages more imagination that watching tv...on tv, everything is spoon fed to you, so you dont need to think...i do encourage my kids to read and i love to read myself... also a book is portable and can be taken anywhere, a tv, not so much!!!

I don't think we need new legislation to pass to have kids read more. We need properly trained teachers and supportive principals to implement more basics, like reading. These days, kids are not taught to read until they are six and seven. A lot of them don't like to read because they cannot do it very well. The state of public schools is sad, although there are a lot of good ones out there. I don't want to overlook the hardworking teachers or the diligent students that do exist.
