Have you bought a car from online?

We are planning to buy a minivan and instead of driving around from dealer to dealer I have been looking online. I guess I am a little leary about buying from a person.
We will be buying used.
Have you or would you buy a car offline?
What is your experience?

We looked online for our van. Found one online at a local dealer, went and looked at it and bought it. But I would be leary of buying without seeing and test driving it first.
We sold our 20 yr old Jeep online. Listed it as parts, since it was not drivable.

That depends! If it's from somewhere around where you live, then maybe. First, you need to take a mechanic with you or take the car to a mechanic and make sure that there's nothing wrong with the car. If there's nothing wrong with it, then I don't see why not. If the owner refuses to let you take it or let a mechanic look at it, then you definitely don't want to buy the van. Good luck!
