How Do You Feel about Associated Content?

Just curious what other writers think about this site and others like it. Right now, being the mom to three small children, I don;t have a lot of time for more demanding writing gigs, and I do enjoy it. However, in other writer's groups they have really bashed it. They think that it hurts "real" writers, because the less experienced take less money for their pieces making it more difficult for them to make "real" money. What do you think?

Associated Content isn't so bad. The better you are, the more you get paid, so I don't see how that hurts anyone. If you don't write so well, then of course, you're not going to get paid so well. So, how that hurts anyone is beyond me. I like that it's all freelance work, and you can write whenever you feel like it, even if you don't feel like writing for a month, you can still come back, write and get paid for it. I just like all the options that are available. It's definitely a nice site to get started with in my opinion.

I like Associated Content. I like the layout; it looks just great and there are some interesting writers there. However, I'm from the UK so don't write to make money, just for fun: http://associatedcontent.com/carlhalling

I have been a member of Associated Content for a long time but have never published an article. I think I am just afraid of being rejected the first time I do submit something. I do some writing for gather. What are some other online writing groups that pay?

I havn't yet submitted much but i think its a good platform for all 'us' amateur writers. Although i'd submitted just about 5 articles, which they'd published all, but i still don't understand their payment systems.Hope they pay at the end of the month.

I like it and I have been paid by them for some of the articles. It is hit or miss when it comes to an upfront payment but it's not bad. I take each thing as a learning experience. I've only been with it not even 2 months and I've got stuff published. It just takes time and patience. I don't know if it does hurt "real" writers or not, I couldn't really say to tell you the truth. All I can say is that it is a good program and could be used to make an income if a lot of articles are written and accepted for upfront payments. To continue payment, it will take a 1000 views and that is up to you the person to figure that out how to get it promoted.

My Only problem with A.C is that they only pay U.s citizens. I went on suite 101.com and was there for a week but the editors there are right down nasty and abusive. I actually had to report them to the BBB.
