Some people say the dominiance of English language has some negative effects on native culture and languages of other non English spoken countries. Do you agree or disagree with this saying? what measures should people take to eliminate these negative effects?

Enlish enables everyone to understand each other. I guess it became a universal language but we shouldn't let it dominate our own culture.

I really don't see a negative effect. If people want to move to English speaking countries, then they need to speak the language. How else are they going to get a job, read street sign, etc....No one is stopping them from speaking their own language, but they just need to learn English. It makes it easier for them in their daily lives. We are expected to learn the language of other countries if we want to live there. You can keep your culture and language alive. On the global scene it is just easier to be able to understand and speak English, especially in the business world. It just makes sense that if you want to communicate with someone in the English speaking countries, to learn their language.

i just dont get it neither why they said that the domiance of english has some negative effects on native culture, where in fact it is very helpful in our global communication and that we are being understood wherever places we came from. But i guess we cannot question others for what they feel and for their opinions,it is just that in everything in this world there are really positive and negative feedbacks and results.

Actually, the dominance of English language do have negative impact on local language and culture. for example. some countries make English language as thier official languange by legislation, in a long run, this may lead to the extinguish of their native language.and there are some impacts on some other aspects.
