How bright is your monitor?

I am not talking about intelligence of your monitor. LOL.
From young, I have the habit of tuning the television to dim with low contrast. when I started to use computers, many people cannot use my monitor because they felt it was too dim to see. However, I see the words nicely, clearly and comfortably. I have my monitor set to low brightness and high contrast, mainly so it will not cause any relection and hurt the eyes. I was at a client's place and after few hours on the screen, my eyes feel sore and dry.
Friends, how bright do you adjust your monitor screen? Or how dim is it? Perhaps you would like to share the brightness and contrast? Thank you.

Lol.. I don't know how smart my monitor is. Guess it is not that bad in that aspect since some of my intelligence should have rubbed off on it. :)
I think the settings for my monitor is about in the centre. I have a big problem with monitors actually. I can never set it right. It's either too bright or too dim no matter what settings I use.
If only someone can help me fix it... sigh.

Well bighead, being a bunny who loves to eat carrots everyday, my eyes can withstand the glaring sun perfectly. :P
Like you, I have set the brightness to its lowest and medium contrast. I don't like my screen to look too bright nor too dim. My eyes are comfortable with the settings.

Right now the brightness and the contrast of my monitor are right in the middle range. But I have glasses that are tinted a rosy shade of pink, so it looks a bit darker to me than to the rest of the family. I like it like that rather than too bright, because then it kicks in one of my lovely migraines and then I'm off the computer for DAYS.

Hello.whyaskq,I think the brightness for my laptop is suitable for most of the people,it is not too bright or too dim, many people have used my laptop at my home before but i have not heard about any complains from them. I also set the contrast to nearly maximum so that i can see the words clearer.

since I'm quite the tech idiot, i dun really know how to tell you what my brightness and contrast is.
but yup, in contrast to you, I don't like screens that are too dim. there is this privacy shield for my laptop screen but it makes the screen dimmer. which i suppose cuts out some glare and is better for my eyes, but i can't stand having to squint and feel that my myopia is worsening. so it's no privacy and bright lights for me. :)
