I am late getting my p and I am always on time have been since I got it. Although we have been trying I am a little worried that I did not get a positive result this morning I was sure that I was. Has this ever happened to anybody? I am worried and will call the dr. I have read that ectopic pregnancys although stop your p give you a negative result.

Let me first of all say, Congrats on the choice to try and become a parent (or parent again). Whether it's your first or last or anywhere in between, it's wonderful that you are trying for that! Go see your doctor. Pregnancy tests are not always accurate and you need to seek out the help of a doctor. Please let us know what happens!!!! I'll keep you in my prayers. I had a negative test and guess what, 8.5 months later, there was my little boy!!!

How soon after your missed P did you take the test? If it's been more than a week, I would talk to your doctor. I know those little boxes say they can work within hours of your first missed period, but do they really? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it really is positive! Good luck!

Is it so!i think consulting doctor is good to have own decision and the confirmation at doctors is tension free and you can solve your case very easily.

It really depends on how early you tried to do this pregnancy test. If you're only a few days late, and you're pregnant, that might not show up in a pregnancy test. My friend tested 3 times after she was late before testing pregnant. She tested it a few days after her period was due (negative), one week after (negative), 1.5 weeks after (positive!). Then, she went to see her doc to confirm it. Yes, she's pregnant again! So, if you're not sure and would like a 2nd opinion, definitely get it checked out at the doc's office.

i have made a appt for next week this will give me over a 8 days if it doesn't come. I thought that it would show up right away I didn't know so many people got negative results when they were positive.

hm i think getting late or something like that not always means that we are pregnant, sometimes 'p' lifetime doesn't same every time we get 'p' and this is natural but if you want to make sure that you get pregnant or not i think visit doctor would be good decision..

How late are you? And are your cycles normally 28 days or do they run a bit longer? My cycles have always been longer than 28 days, usually more like 34 days. It always takes me until I am a full week or more late to get a positive even with an early detection test. Unless you are having signs of an ectopic pregnancy (pain, fever, tenderness etc) I wouldn't worry that that's what's happening. If you're feeling fine, I would just wait a few days and test again. Eat, rest, and avoid stress just in case and just because it's healthy to do those things anyway :)

There's a rule with home pregnancy tests, if they say you're pregnant then you usually are, if they say you're not pregnant, then there's a good chance you could still be! If you end up with a positive or negative reaction, you should still get a 2nd opinion with your Dr, they can give you a more accurate answer! There's no need to be worried though :) You could also leave it a few more days & do another home test & see what happens but instead of wasting the money on that, you're better off just going to your Dr for either a urine or blood test then you'll know for sure!
