What's your favorite pinoy food? Why? It may be street foods or any Filipino delicacy.

i like halo halo, leche flan and bibingkang balinghoy or cassava cake. these three are the best for me. however, my favorite versions of these food are not those one can find in commercial stores... i like them all homemade style. :)
the halo halo must be with lots of pinipig or rice flakes, ube, leche flan, gulaman, macapuno, kaong, and jackfruit (i forgot the tagalog term for this).
i haven't eaten a leche flan that could beat the one we make at home! sorry but true. :)
the cassava cake made by a distant relative who's actually a neighbor of ours is the best! it has delicious toppings made of coconut milk and milk concoction... cooked the traditional way thru burnt coconut husks. :)

yeah, made me hungry too. your earlier post was about street foods. now, it's pinoy delicacies...
you are making both of us hungry!!! :0
balinghoy is what we call camoteng-kahoy in tagalog, the base for cassava cake. :)

Your post really made me hungry! Hehehe! It made me look for food before writing this post. I haven't tasted balinghoy yet but I think it is a very good pinoy delicacy. I also love home-made halo-halo and leche flan. My mom makes one of the best leche flans in the world! Even cassava cake too! I'm also choosy when it comes to my halo-halo toppings. I don't like kaong, jackfruit, corn, beans, and monggo in my halo-halo. My favorites would be nata de coco, leche-flan, sago, gulaman, banana, buko, ice cream (any flavor would do), melon, and others! I want to have a halo-halo!!!!!

Thanks again for posting! I haven't tasted morcon yet but I'll definitely try it. My mother cooks the best kare-kare on the planet. Even her bagoong is the best! I just hope she'll realize the potential of making it a very lucrative business. Hope I can taste your kare-kare and bagoong so I can compare it to my mom's.

Thanks again! I also feel hungry writing these comments and posts. Hehehe! Now, I'm craving for kare-kare because I have written a comment a while ago about it. Sorry if I made you hungry. You can eat while you post just be careful about the mess that might get to your pc.

As a fellow Pinoy, I always like the satisfying taste of the Pinoy foods we have around. I could not specify just one (1) favorite because I ususally eat varied Pinoy delicacies. Well, for a start I like our own vegetable here in Visayas called "law-uy" and also sinigang na isda. I like buko salad ang mango float (if it is a Pinoy food hehehehe). Likewise, the local fruits are the best in the whole world -- carabao mangoes, durian and mangosteen. Of course, there are a lot more.

I really like taho every morning. Isaw fishballs and kwek-kwek for the street foods. For the dishes, it would be pinakbet and adobo yummy!

There are lots of Filipino food that goes into my mind, adobo, menudo, kare-kare, tinolang manok tagalog, etc., but maybe my all time Filipino favorite food will be adobong galunggong (cooked until the soy sauce is already dried). Whew, this simple dish makes me forget my diet.
